Raise and support the vehicle.
Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
Remove the control arm cover by removing the bolts (1) from the cover.

Remove the lower shock bolts (2) from the lower control arm.

Brace the rear suspension lower control arm with a suitable lifting device.
Raise the control arm until the halfshaft is horizontal.
Using Special Tool 9152 Compressor Plates and 9150 Spring Compressor (1) compress the rear spring.

Remove the rear bolts on the lower control arm (4) attaching the control arm to the frame.
Remove the lifting device.

Swing the lower control arm (2) down away from the mounting flange (1).
Carefully remove the spring from the vehicle.
