Idle Speed & Ignition Timing

Ensure idle speed and ignition timing are set to specification. See IGNITION TIMING  . For adjustment procedures, see ADJUSTMENTS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. After setting ignition timing on 4-cylinder models, reconnect vacuum hose and check idle speed. See IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS  .

Specification with sub-harness installed on 6-pin check connector, located near top of transaxle (near battery on Rocky), and jumper wire installed between terminal "T" (Brown wire) and ground terminal (Black wire). See Figure .

With distributor sub-chamber vacuum hose (nearest distributor body) disconnected and plugged.
