Radiator, Engine Cooling: Installation: 6.2L

  1. Install the radiator from the bottom of the vehicle.
    NOTE:

    Use extreme care when removing and installing the radiator not to damage the fins with the tight clearance area.

  2. Install the lower radiator support bracket (2) onto the radiator.
  3. Install the four lower radiator support to frame rail mounting bolts (1) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the lower radiator close out panels by installing new push in fasteners.

  5. Remove the tie straps securing the LTR system tubes and install the push pins (1) securing the LTR system tubes to the lower radiator support.
  6. Remove the tie straps securing the cooling fan out of the way.

  7. Install the four A/C condenser and the LTR cooler to the radiator mounting bolts (2) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .

  8. Install the radiator close out panels.
  9. Connect the wire harness connector (3) to the ambient temperature sensor (2).
  10. Install the lower radiator hose and secure the clamp.
    NOTE:

    Ensure that the hose is fully seated on the radiator port and that the clamp in not resting on the port bead.

  11. Install the upper radiator hose and secure the clamp. Install a NEW  torque limiting clamp.
    NOTE:

    Ensure that the hose is fully seated on the radiator port and that the clamp in not resting on the port bead.

  12. Install the push pin (1) securing the coolant tubes to the PDC mounting bracket.
  13. Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  14. Verify there is no coolant leak.
  15. Install the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT .
  16. Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN .
  17. Install both front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY .
  18. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

  19. Insert the fan assembly (1) into the lower fan shroud retainers (2).

  20. Install the cooling fan assembly to radiator mounting bolts (1) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .

  21. Rotate the air inlet assembly back into place and install the three air cleaner housing cover retaining screws (3)
  22. Tighten the air inlet clamp (1).

  23. Connect the wire harness connector to the cooling fan.
  24. Install the ABS module cover.
  25. Install the two push pin connectors that retain the battery cable and hold down the ABS module cover.
  26. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  27. Operate the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check the cooling system and automatic transmission for the correct fluid levels.
