CAUTION:
Do not use oil based liquids to clean timing cover or block surfaces. Use only rubbing alcohol, along with plastic or wooden scrapers. Use no wire brushes or abrasive wheels or metal scrapers, or damage to surfaces could result.
- Clean both sealing surfaces using a plastic scraper and Mopar® Brake Parts Cleaner or the equivalent. Take care not to scratch or gouge sealing surfaces.
- Install new thermostat into thermostat housing.
- Install a new thermostat housing gasket.
- Install the thermostat housing to chain case cover.
- Tighten the thermostat housing bolts in the sequence to 12 N.m (106 in. lbs.).
- Connect the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing.
- Install the air cleaner housing assembly, connect the throttle body air inlet hose. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
- Refill the cooling system. Refer to FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
