Fan, Cooling: Installation

  1. If removed, install the harness (1) onto the cooling fan.

  2. If required, connect the cooling fan wire harness connectors to the cooling fan relays (1), the resistors (2) and the cooling fan motors (3).

  3. Install the cooling fan (3) from the top.
  4. Position the radiator cooling fan (3) into mounts and attaching clips (2) on the radiator. Press down to lock into place.

  5. Install the crossmember and tighten the front four bolts (3) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Install the top bolts (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install the radiator support bolts (2) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  8. Install the side (1) and upper (2, 3) fasteners to the front fascia and securely tighten.
  9. Install the front grille. Refer to GRILLE, INSTALLATION .

  10. Connect the upper radiator hose (3) to the radiator.
  11. Connect the two cooling fan wire harness connectors to the Power Distribution Center (PDC).
  12. Turn the PDC over and position back in place.
  13. Install the PDC cover and securely tighten the nuts.
  14. Install the pressurized coolant bottle bracket and securely tighten the pressurized coolant bottle bracket bolts.

  15. Install the pressurized coolant bottle (3) and tighten the pressurized coolant bottle bolt (6) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  16. Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
  17. Install the air cleaner resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
  18. Install the three retainers securing the coolant hose to the cooling fan.
  19. Install the cooling fan ground wire to the left frame rail and securely tighten the nut.
  20. Install the right lower splash shield.
  21. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  22. Remove support and lower the vehicle.
  23. Fill cooling system. Refer to COOLANT SYSTEM AIR EVACUATION  .
  24. Start and warm the engine and check for leaks.
