Description & Operation: Notes
Evaporative emissions are controlled by the interaction of the evaporative canister, fuel tank vents, rollover valves, filler cap relief valves and interconnecting hoses.
Fuel vapors in fuel tank pass through valves of the fuel tank and into evaporative canister through hose. In the canister, vapors are absorbed and stored. This controls pressure that may occur in fuel tank when engine is not running.
A hose connects canister to air cleaner snorkel. Inside of snorkel is a venturi. As air passes through venturi, it draws vapors out of canister into intake airflow, through throttle body and intake manifold to be burned in combustion chamber. See Figure .
