Repair and Diagnosis: Transmission: Clutches: Description
Clutches in all models are a single plate, dry disc-type with a self-adjusting cable release mechanism, or an adjustable hydraulic cylinder system. A constant-running clutch release bearing is used on all models. On models equipped with hydraulic system, the pedal arm actuates a master cylinder through an adjustable pushrod. The slave cylinder pushrod in turn operates the release bearing fork.
On models equipped with cable actuated mechanism, the clutch pedal is connected to a torque shaft which actuates a cable and lever. Upper end of the clutch pedal pivots on the pedal bracket using 2 nylon bushings, which require no periodic lubrication.
