Pump, Water: Installation
- Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
- Apply a bead of silicone sealant, MS-GF-44B or equivalent, to the contact surfaces between the water pump and the engine block.
- Position the water pump (1a) onto the engine block.
- Install the three mounting bolts (1b) and nut (1c). Tighten to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.).
- Install the inner timing belt cover (2). Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.).
- Rotate pump by hand to check for freedom of movement.
- Install the timing belt (1). Refer to BELT, TIMING, INSTALLATION .
- Evacuate air and fill the cooling system. Refer to COOLANT SYSTEM AIR EVACUATION .
