Initial (Base) Timing Test

Disconnect and plug distributor vacuum hose(s). Connect timing light and tachometer to engine. Start and run engine until normal operating temperature is reached. Ensure engine speed is at or below specification. Adjust if necessary. Check initial (base) ignition timing. If timing is within F2 degrees of specification, go to next test. If not, adjust as necessary. After adjustment, go to next test.
