Temperature Gauge Testing
- Disconnect water temperature sensor connector. Water temperature sensor connector is located on top left rear side of engine.
- Using Gauge System Tester (Rotunda 021-00055), connect one lead of tester to Yellow/Green wire at connector and other lead to ground. Set gauge tester to resistance values. See Fig 1 .
- Turn ignition switch to the "ON" position. Check to see that gauge indicator needle displays correct values. Continue test for 2 minutes on each setting to correctly judge condition. Allowable reading is twice the width of gauge needle.
- If reading is within allowable range, proceed to TEMPERATURE SENSOR CHECK . If reading is not within allowable range, replace temperature gauge.
