Trouble Shooting
Verify proper operation of following systems. Repair any faults before proceeding with remote keyless entry system diagnosis.
- Horn
- Power Door Locks/Windows
- Hazard Warning System
- Illuminated Entry
- Anti-Theft System (If Equipped)
Before performing individual component test, check following for possible cause of system malfunction.
- Low Charge In Vehicle Battery
- Faulty Fuse(s)
- Loose Or Corroded Connectors
- Damaged Wiring
- Damaged Transmitter(s)
- Faulty Transmitter Batteries
- Damaged Remote Keyless Entry Control Module
- Damaged Or Loose Antenna
Before proceeding with testing procedure, reset remote keyless entry system by disconnecting then reconnecting battery. Check for system malfunctions. Refer to symptom chart to identify appropriate test procedures. If necessary, proceed to PINPOINT TEST under TESTING.
