Ignition Switch: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect positive battery cable. Disable air bag system (if equipped). See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  . Remove lower shroud. See Figure . Remove mounting nuts and bolts from steering column mounting bracket. Lower column until ignition switch retaining screws are accessible.
  2. Remove upper shroud. Disconnect ignition switch electrical connector. Turn lock cylinder to RUN position. Remove ignition switch.
