Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal

1.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Download the module information to the diagnostic tool using the Programmable Modules Installation routine. Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment

2.

Disconnect the battery connections. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .

3.

Remove the fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .

4.

Remove the retainers and the PCM housing cover.

- Disconnect the retainers and the PCM electrical connectors.
- Remove the retainers and the PCM.
