Transfer Case Fluid Level Check: Check
- Follow the health and safety precautions. Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions .
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- If equipped. Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.
- Remove the PTU (Power Transfer Unit) fill plug.
- Fill the PTU with clean fluid, level with the fill plug opening.
Material: Motorcraft® SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant / XY-75W140-QL (WSL-M2C192-A)
- Install the PTU fill plug.
Torque: 33 lb.ft (45 Nm)
- If equipped. Install the underbody shield.
