Keyless Entry Does Not Operate Correctly

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Disconnect keyless entry module connector. Connect test light between connector C2, terminal "B" (Pink wire) and ground. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Pink wire.
  2. Connect test light between connector C1, terminal "A" (Orange wire) and ground. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Orange wire.
  3. Connect test light between connector C1, terminals "A" (Orange wire) and "F" (Black wire). If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Black wire.
  4. Connect test light between connector C1, terminal "D" (Tan wire) and voltage. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Tan wire.
  5. Put right front door lock switch in LOCK position. Connect test light between connector C2, terminal "D" (Tan wire) and ground. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Tan wire.
  6. Put right front door lock switch in UNLOCK position. Connect test light between connector C2, terminal "D" (Tan wire) and ground. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Tan wire.
  7. If battery condition is unknown, replace transmitter batteries with fresh batteries. If system operates normally, system is okay. If still does not operate normally, go to next step.
  8. Connect jumper wire between remote keyless entry module connector C2, terminal "H" (Black/White wire) and connector C1, terminal "F" (Black wire). If doors lock and unlock, go to next step. If doors do not lock and unlock, go to step 10).
  9. Leave jumper wire connected. Secure a known-good transmitter. Operate transmitter by pressing a single button once. Disconnect jumper wire. If system operates normally, replace inoperative transmitter. If system does not operate normally, replace keyless entry module.
  10. Connect test light between connector C2, terminal "H" (Black/White wire) and voltage. If test light comes on, repair short to ground in Black/White wire. If test light does not come on, replace keyless entry module.
