Manual Transmission Servicing: Identification

NOTE: Transmissions are stamped with a VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) derivative on the case that can be used for identification purposes. Transfer cases can be identified by a tag attached at rear. Tag provides transfer case model number, low range reduction ratio and assembly number.
