Remote Keyless Entry Systems: Description
Remote keyless entry system is used to lock and unlock vehicle doors and release endgate/liftgate window. Transmitter sends coded signals to receiver control module, capable of recognizing 4 transmitters. Receiver control module, located in left side instrument panel sound insulator, decodes signal from transmitter and issues signal to BCM (Body Control Module) through serial data link. System also uses existing power door lock components. System has a remote panic alarm on transmitter (imprinted with horn symbol).
