Installation Procedure

IMPORTANT: Do not reuse the old mounting screws. Always install new mounting screws with the new EBCM.
IMPORTANT: Do not use RTV or any other type of sealant on the EBCM gasket or mating surfaces.
  1. Install EBCM on to the BPMV.

  3. Install the 4 new T-25 TORX® screws in the EBCM (2).
    NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the 4 T-25 TORX® screws to 5 N.m (39 lb in) in an X-pattern.

  4. Install the 2 electrical connectors on the side of the EBCM.

  6. Install the electrical connector on the back of the EBCM.

  8. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle  in General Information.
  9. Revise the tire calibration using the Scan Tool Tire Size Calibration function.
