Removal Procedure

Due to the complexity of the compass system and the extent of outside influences on the compass' performance, thoroughly inspect the system prior to performing repairs.

Inspect the compass in an area that is free from potential interference such as in an open field. Inspect that the compass is calibrated in order to verify the existence of a problem.

1. Remove the overhead console. Refer to Driver Information Center Replacement (Without Sunroof)  or Driver Information Center Replacement (With Sunroof) .
2. Remove the compass sensor from the overhead console.
