Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .

CAUTION:

Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.

  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.

  3. Remove Radiator Surge Tank (1) - Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LYX without KL9)Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LTG LYX with KL9)Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LH7 FWD)Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LH7 AWD)
  4. NOTE:

    The area around the electronic brake control module (EBCM) and brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly must be free from loose dirt to prevent contamination of disassembled ABS components.

  5. Clean the area surrounding the EBCM/BPMV of any accumulated dirt and debris.

  7. Disconnect Electronic Brake Control Module Electrical Connector (1).

  9. Disconnect Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe Fitting (1).
  10. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  12. Disconnect Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Primary Pipe Fitting (1)
  13. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  15. Disconnect Right Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1)
  16. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  18. Disconnect Left Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1).
  19. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  21. Disconnect Right Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1).
  22. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  24. Disconnect Left Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1).
  25. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
