Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
  2. Rear Seat Cushion - Remove - Rear Seat Cushion Removal and Installation

    Unclip the left side and right side sunshades and reposition the sunshades.

  4. Open the left side and right side sunshade support bolt access covers with an appropriate tool.
  5. Sunshade Support Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Sunshade Support Bolt Cover - Left Side and Right Side (4) - Remove [2x]

  7. Sunshade Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (3) - Remove [4x]
  8. Squeeze the tabs at the base of the sunshade (1) to detach it from the roof panel and allow the headlining trim panel with the sunshade (1) attached to be lowered.

    Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the retaining clip (2) from the A pillar.

  10. Access the windshield upper garnish molding clip (3) on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1), and release it from the A pillar using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool.

    Windshield Garnish Molding - Left Side (1) - Remove

    Use a small flat-bladed tool to open the assist handle covers to access the bolts. (1)

  13. Windshield Pillar Assist Handle Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]

    Pull down the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the retaining clip from the A pillar.

  15. Windshield Garnish Molding - Right Side (1) - Remove
  16. Reposition the inside rearview mirror.

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  18. Windshield Multifunction Sensor Mount Bracket Cover Insert (1) - Remove

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully pry downward on the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (1) to release it from the windshield.

    Pull down on the headlining trim panel to release the 4 roof rear console retainers (1).

    Headlining Trim Panel - Reposition

  23. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the 2 plastic retaining tabs (1).
  24. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the 2 plastic retaining tabs (2).
  25. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Roof Console (1) - Remove

    Starting at the rear of the garnish molding (1), pull upward at the B-Pillar joint to release the up/down clips first.

  28. Rotate the sill garnish molding (1) inboard after releasing up/down clips and pull rearward to disengage the two clips on the forward vertical wall.

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

    Front Seat Belt Anchor Plate Tensioner Cover - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]

  33. Front Seat Belt Anchor Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Center Pillar Lower Garnish Molding Lower Hole Cover - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, open the center pillar upper trim panel bolt cap (1) to gain access to the bolt.

  36. Body Lock Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [2x]

    NOTE:

    Pull the center pillar upper trim panel (1) inward and upward to disengage the retaining clips, and to clear the front seat belt anchor plate tensioner.

  38. Feed the front seat belt anchor plate tensioner through the center pillar upper trim panel (1).
  39. Feed the seat belt through the center pillar upper trim panel (1).
  40. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Rear Seat Belt Retractor Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, open the body side rear window garnish molding bolt cap (2) to gain access to the bolt.

  43. Body Lock Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]

    NOTE:

    Starting at the top and working down using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, grasp the body side rear window garnish molding (1) and gently pull it away from the body to disengage the retaining clips.

  45. Feed the seat belt through the body side rear window garnish molding (1).

    NOTE:
    • Ensure that both retaining clips are released before proceeding, or component damage may occur.
    • The rear seat position center courtesy lamp will remain attached to the headlining trim panel.

    Grasp the rear seat position center courtesy lamp (1) on both sides and pull downward to disengage the retaining clips (2).

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, press inward on the retaining tabs and rotate the rear seat position center courtesy lamp (1) downward and forward.

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Fold the assist handle downward and hold.

  52. Use a small flat-bladed tool to open the assist handle covers to access the bolts. (1)
  53. Roof Rail Assist Handle Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Remove [4x]

  55. Recline both front seats and move them fully forward.

    Lower the headlining trim panel (2).

  57. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  59. Release the retaining tabs.
  60. Remote Function Actuator Module (1) - Remove
