Preliminary Testing: Metro

Ensure all fuses and grounds are good. Unless gauge is known to be defective, check sending unit and wiring circuit first. If fuel gauge, coolant temperature gauge and tachometer are all inoperative, perform the following:

• Check for an open in Black/White wire between junction block and instrument panel cluster assembly.
• Check for an open in Black/Blue ground wire between instrument panel cluster assembly and ground.
• Check instrument panel cluster printed circuit for cracks and poor connections.
