Starter Restart Relay Test

  1. Relay is located in fuse/relay box, on left side of engine compartment. Remove relay. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between relay terminals No. 1 (Black/Orange wire) and No. 3 (Black wire). Ensure continuity is present. If continuity is not present, replace relay.
  2. Check continuity between terminals No. 2 (White/Black wire) and 6 (Black White wire). Ensure continuity does not exist. If continuity is present, replace relay.
  3. Energize relay by applying battery voltage to terminal No. 1 and grounding terminal No. 3. Check continuity between terminals No. 2 and 6. Ensure continuity exists. If continuity is not present, replace relay.
