Rectifier Test

  1. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity, between each diode lead and upper/lower rectifier bodies (STEP 1 in illustration). See Fig 1 . Check resistance in both directions by reversing ohmmeter leads. Continuity should only exist in one direction. If continuity does not exist or exists in both directions, replace rectifier.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between diode trio leads (STEP 2 in illustration). See Fig 1 . Continuity should only exist in one direction.
