Speedometer Is Inaccurate
- Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) stored within PCM. If there are no DTCs present, go to next step. If any DTCs are stored, see the appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section.
- Locate Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) at right rear of transaxle. Connect voltmeter between VSS connector terminal No. 3 (Red/Yellow wire) and ground. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Raise and support vehicle drive wheels off ground.
- Place transaxle in NEUTRAL. Measure voltage while slowly rotating drive wheel one complete revolution. If voltage flashed from zero to approximately 10 volts 2 times, replace speedometer. If voltage did not flash from zero to approximately 10 volts 2 times, replace VSS.
