Using DVOM

  1. Insert a .14" (3.5 mm) feeler gauge between throttle stop screw and throttle lever. See Figure. If Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor plunger is contacting throttle lever screw, bring engine to normal operating temperature.
  2. Turn ignition OFF. Using a DVOM, backprobe between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) 16-pin connector terminal No. 6 (Light Green/White wire) and ground. Turn ignition ON and engine OFF. Using DVOM, read TP sensor voltage. If voltage is .98-1.02 volts, TP sensor is adjusted properly. If voltage is not .98-1.02 volts, adjust or replace TP sensor. See ADJUSTMENT.
