Throttle Body
Throttle body is a 2-venturi side-draft type with primary air horn at top. Lower portion of throttle body is heated by engine coolant to prevent icing in winter. Primary throttle valve has a throttle opening sensor located on its shaft. This sensor senses changes in throttle position and signals ECU where programmed adjustments can be made to fuel injection system.
On vehicles equipped with manual transmission, a dashpot is used to prevent sudden closing of throttle during gear shifting.
