EFE Control Unit

  1. Disconnect 7-wire connector from EFE control unit. Check for continuity between Black wire terminal of harness and body ground. If continuity does not exist, repair open Black wire in harness between harness connector and ground.
  2. If continuity does exist, turn ignition on. Measure voltage between Black/Yellow (pos.) and Black (neg.) terminals of main harness. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Black/Yellow wire between harness connector and No. 12 fuse, or replace fuse.
  3. If battery voltage is indicated, measure the voltage between White/Blue (pos.) and Black (neg.) wire terminals of main harness. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in White/Blue wire between control unit and alternator. If voltage is present, measure voltage between Yellow/Green (pos.) and Black (neg.) wire terminals of main harness.
  4. If battery voltage is present, replace EFE control unit and retest. If battery voltage is not present, inspect Yellow/Green wire between ECU and EFE control unit. If wire is okay, fault is in ECU control circuit. Go to TROUBLE SHOOTING  .
