System Testing: Notes

NOTE: Prior to functional testing of EGR system, perform visual inspection of vacuum hoses, EGR delivery pipes and electrical connections. Fuel injected vehicles are equipped with an EGR lift sensor. If a fault exists in the EGR system, the PGM-FI warning light should illuminate and a code 12 should be set in memory. Other then EGR valve functional test, no testing information is available for fuel injected vehicles.
