PGM-Carb System: Description
The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) receives input signals from various sensors and switches. The ECU processes input data and sends output signals to various control solenoids. See Fig 1 . This allows Programmed Carburetion (PGM-CARB) system to precisely control air/fuel mixture under most operating conditions. ECU also controls self diagnostic system, emissions system, idle boost system (models equipped with air conditioning) and fail-safe system. Fail-safe system provides safe driving even if one or more of the sensors are faulty or ECU malfunctions.
