Interlock Control Unit
- Remove lower panel from instrument panel. See DASHBOARD LOWER COVER & KNEE BOLSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect interlock control unit harness connector. Interlock control unit is located behind left side of dash, near steering column or instrument panel. Inspect terminals for poor connection, corrosion or bending. Repair as necessary.
- Using DVOM, check for continuity or voltage between specified terminals. See Fig 1. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair circuit as necessary and recheck system. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Substitute with a known-good interlock control unit and recheck system. If problem no longer exists, replace original interlock control unit.
