Pressure Test
Special Tools Required
- A/T Oil Pressure Gauge Set 07406-0020400 or 07406-0020401
- A/T Pressure Hose, 2,210 mm 07MAJ-PY4011A
- A/T Pressure Adapter 07MAJ-PY40120
NOTE:
- Disable the VSA by pressing the VSA OFF button.
- VSA DTC(s) may come on during the test-drive. If the VSA DTC(s) come on, clear the DTC(s) with the HDS.
- Make sure the transmission fluid is filled to the proper level (see ATF LEVEL CHECK ).
- Raise the vehicle on a lift, or apply the parking brake, block the rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle. Make sure it is securely supported, and allow the front wheels to rotate freely.
- Remove the front inner fender and the splash shield.
- Connect the HDS to the DLC (A) located under the driver's side of the dashboard.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Make sure the HDS communicates with the PCM. If it does not, go to the DLC circuit troubleshooting (see DLC CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING ).
- Connect the A/T oil pressure gauge to the line pressure inspection port (A). Do not allow dust or other foreign particles to enter the port while connecting the A/T oil pressure gauge.

- Start the engine, and warm it up to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on).
- Measure the line pressure at the line pressure inspection port while holding the engine speed at 2,000 rpm with the shift lever in P or N.NOTE: Higher pressures may be noticed if measurements are taken with the shift lever in any position other than P or N.FLUID PRESSURE REFERENCE
Pressure Fluid Pressure Standard Service Limit Line 950 - 1,010 kPa (9.7 - 10.3 kgf/cm2 , 140 - 146 psi) 900 kPa (9.2 kgf/cm2 , 130 psi) - Turn the engine off, then disconnect the oil pressure gauge from the line pressure inspection port.
- Install the sealing bolt to the line pressure inspection port with a new sealing washer, and tighten the bolt to 18 N.m (1.8 kgf.m, 13 lbf.ft). Do not reuse the old sealing washer.
- Remove the engine cover and the intake air duct.
- Connect the A/T oil pressure gauge to the 1st clutch pressure inspection port (B) and the 1st-hold clutch pressure inspection port (C).
- Connect the A/T oil pressure gauge to the 2nd clutch pressure inspection port (D). Then temporarily install the intake air duct.
- Start the engine with the shift lever in P, then shift the shift lever to 1.
- Measure the 1st clutch pressure at the 1st clutch pressure inspection port and the 1st-hold clutch pressure at the 1st-hold clutch pressure inspection port while holding the engine speed at 2,000 rpm.
- Shift the shift lever to 2, and measure the 2nd clutch pressure at the 2nd clutch pressure inspection port while holding the engine speed at 2,000 rpm.FLUID PRESSURE REFERENCE
Pressure Fluid Pressure Standard Service Limit 1st clutch (B) 2nd clutch (D) 940 - 1,020 kPa (9.6 - 10.4 kgf/cm2 , 140 - 148 psi) 890 kPa (9.1 kgf/cm2 , 130 psi) 1st-hold clutch (C) 677 - 755 kPa (6.9 - 7.7 kgf/cm2 , 98 - 110 psi) 628 kPa (6.4 kgf/cm2 , 91 psi) - Turn the engine off, then disconnect the A/Toil pressure gauges from the 1st, 1st-hold, and 2nd clutch pressure inspection ports.
- Install the sealing bolts in the 1st, 1st-hold, and 2nd clutch pressure inspection ports with new sealing washers, and tighten the bolts to 18 N.m (1.8 kgf.m, 13 lbf.ft). Do not reuse the old sealing washers.
- Connect the A/T oil pressure gauge to the 3rd clutch pressure inspection port (E) and the 5th clutch pressure inspection port (G).
- Connect the A/T oil pressure gauge to the 4th clutch pressure inspection port (F).
- Start the engine with the shift lever in P. Press the brake pedal, shift the shift lever to D and select the D3 driving mode by pressing the D3 button.
- Measure the 3rd clutch pressure at the 3rd clutch pressure inspection port while holding the engine speed at 2,000 rpm.
- Release the D3 driving mode by pressing the D3 button, and measure the 4th clutch pressure at the 4th clutch pressure inspection port while holding the. engine speed at 2,000 rpm.
- Measure the 5th clutch pressure at the 5th clutch pressure inspection port while holding the engine speed at 2,000 rpm.FLUID PRESSURE REFERENCE
