Center Console Removal/Installation
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repair or service.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands,
- Take care not to scratch the front seat, dashboard, and related parts,
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Move the shift lever to N.
- With center console pocket: Detach the clips (A, B, C) with the appropriate trim tool, then remove the center console pocket (D).
- With center console pocket; Release the hooks (A) with the appropriate trim tool, then remove the center console lid (B).
- Without center console pocket: Remove the separation box (A)
- Without center console pocket; Remove the console box mat (A) and release the hooks (B) with the appropriate trim tool, then remove the center console lid (B).
- With USB adapter: Disconnect the USB subharness connector (A).
- With center console armrest: Pry up the parking brake cover lid (A) to release the hooks (B), then remove it.
- Without center console armrest: Pry up the parking brake cover lid (A) to release the hooks (B), then remove it.
- Remove the center console (A),
- Slide the both front seats forward fully.
- Remove the clips and remove the bolts.
- Pull out the center console to backward.
- Install the console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new once.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
- Make sure the wire harness is not flinched.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
