Oil Pan Removal
- If the engine is already out of the vehicle, go to step 7.
- Remove the splash shield (see SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT ).
- Drain the engine oil (see ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the drive belt (see DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the driveshaft heat shield (see step 33 on ENGINE REMOVAL ).
- Remove the A/C compressor without disconnecting the A/C hoses (see step 35 on ENGINE REMOVAL ).
- Remove the dipstick, then remove the dipstick tube.
- Remove the CKP sensor cover (A), then disconnect the CKP sensor connector (B).
- Remove the transmission mounting bolts.
- Remove the bolts (A) securing the oil pan.
- Using a flat blade screwdriver, separate the oil pan from the engine block in the places shown.
- Remove the oil pan.NOTE: Lower the oil pan carefully so as not to damage the IMA motor rotor position sensor.
