Oil Pan Removal

  1. If the engine is already out of the vehicle, go to step  7.
  2. Remove the splash shield (see SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT ).
  3. Drain the engine oil (see ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT ).
  4. Remove the drive belt (see DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT ).
  5. Remove the driveshaft heat shield (see step 33 on ENGINE REMOVAL ).
  6. Remove the A/C compressor without disconnecting the A/C hoses (see step 35 on ENGINE REMOVAL ).
  7. Remove the dipstick, then remove the dipstick tube.

  8. Remove the CKP sensor cover (A), then disconnect the CKP sensor connector (B).

  9. Remove the transmission mounting bolts.

  10. Remove the bolts (A) securing the oil pan.

  11. Using a flat blade screwdriver, separate the oil pan from the engine block in the places shown.

  12. Remove the oil pan.
    NOTE: Lower the oil pan carefully so as not to damage the IMA motor rotor position sensor.
