AC Inverter Unit Input Test/Replacement
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ).
- Remove the front passenger's seat (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Disconnect the 12P connector (A) from the AC inverter unit (B).
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, Go to step 6.
- With the connector still disconnected, do the following input tests:
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, Go to step 9.
TEST CONDITION REFERENCE CHARTCavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained 5 ORN Under all conditions Check for continuity between terminal No. 5 and power outlet 3P connector terminal No. 3: There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire 12 WHT Under all conditions Check for continuity between terminal No. 12 and power outlet 3P connector terminal No. 1: There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire - Reconnect the connector.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and do the following input tests:
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, disconnect the battery terminal again (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ), and replace the AC inverter unit, then go to step 10.
TEST CONDITION REFERENCE CHARTCavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained 6 BLK In all ignition switch positions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V. - Poor ground (G501)
- An open or high resistance in the wire
1 GRN Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. - Blown No. 18 (20 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
- An open or high resistance in the wire
3 BLK/YEL Ignition switch ON (II) Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. - Blown No. 30 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
- Faulty under-dash fuse/relay box
- An open or high resistance in the wire
- After replacing the AC inverter unit, do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ).
