Engine Identification

Engine can be identified by eighth character of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). VIN is stamped on a metal plate, on the top left end of the instrument panel, near the windshield. See ENGINE IDENTIFICATION table. Engine can also identified by engine identification (ID) number, stamped on cylinder block on engine-to-transmission mating flange, near left cylinder head.
