Disposal Procedures: Notes

To prevent accidental deployment and personal injury, always deploy air bags before disposal. DO NOT dispose of undeployed air bag modules at normal refuse locations. Undeployed air bag modules contain substances that can cause severe illness or personal injury if damaged during disposal.

NOTE: If vehicle is to be scrapped, perform on-vehicle air bag deployment. See ON-VEHICLE DEPLOYMENT . If vehicle is to remain in service, perform off-vehicle deployment procedure. See OFF-VEHICLE DEPLOYMENT .
