Pull-In Test
Connect jumper wire between positive post of 12-volt battery and "S" terminal. Connect a second jumper wire to negative battery terminal and touch "M" terminal. See Fig 1. If pinion moves outward, pull-in coil is good. If pinion does not move outward, replace solenoid.
