Checking Commutator

Place armature on a pair of V-blocks, and check deflection by using a dial gauge. Standard Value: 0.002 In. (0.05 mm). Limit: 0.0039 In. (0.1 mm). See Fig 1 .
Check outer diameter of commutator. Standard Value: 1.157 In. (29.4 mm). Limit: 1.118 In. (28.4 mm). See Fig 2 .
Check depth of undercut between segments. Standard Value: 0.020 In. (0.5 mm). Limit: 0.0079 In. (0.2 mm). See Fig 3 .
