Armature Test
- Check external condition of armature for scoring or other damage. Mount armature on a pair of "V" blocks. Using dial indicator, measure shaft runout. Replace armature if shaft runout exceeds limit. See ARMATURE SHAFT RUNOUT SPECIFICATIONS
table.
- Check for open or grounded armature coil. If continuity exists between armature core and commutator segments, replace grounded armature. If continuity does not exist between commutator segments, armature coil is open. Replace armature.
