WARNING: Vehicles are equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. Before attempting ANY repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in RESTRAINTS.

Standard instrument cluster includes speedometer, tachometer, individual coolant temperature and fuel gauges, and warning indicator lights. Speedometer is driven by electrical pulses from a reed switch or vehicle speed sensor. Speedometer reed switch is cable-driven by transaxle gear. Oil pressure, brake fluid level, low fuel, door ajar, battery voltage, and seat belt warning indicators are represented in an illuminated light bar that uses light bulbs for backlighting. Illuminated light bar is located at bottom of instrument cluster.
