Hydraulic Control System: Description
- The hydraulic control system consists of the following components :
- Oil pump : Generates the hydraulic pressure.
- Regulator: Maintains the hydraulic pressure at a constant level.
- Solenoid valves : Convert TCM signals to hydraulic pressure.
- Pressure control valve : Controls the hydraulic pressure acting on the clutches and brakes according to the hydraulic pressure from the solenoid valves.
- Individual valves : Direct line pressure to the various oil lines.
These components are all housed in the valve body.
- Independent electronic control of the hydraulic pressure from the clutch and brake solenoid valves realizes smooth and highly responsive gear shifts.
- Oil filter is provided in one place.
Also, the use of a newly developed automatic transaxle fluid (ATF) ensures a longer ATF service life.
- To prevent the escape of ATF from the valve body, clutches and brakes when the engine is not running, the valve drainage ports are connected to a single drainage port that is located at a high point on the casing, and a ball check valve is fitted at the end of the drainage line.
- In the event of an electronic control system fault, a switch valve and fail-safe valve arrangement enables operation in 3rd gear or reverse.
