Key Switch Insert Signal Check

  1. CHECK KEY SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL 

    With CONSULT-II 

    • Check Key switch ( "IGN KEY SW") in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II.
      1. When key is inserted to :IGN KEY SW ON
      2. ignition key cylinder
      3. When key is removed :IGN KEY SW OFF
      4. to ignition key cylinder

    Without CONSULT-II 

    1. Disconnect the BCM connector.
    2. Check voltage between BCM harness connector M4 terminal 69 (PU/W) and body ground.
      1. Condition of key switch Voltage [V]:
      2. key is inserted : Approx. 12
      3. key is removed : Approx. 0

    OK or NG 

    1. OK >> Key switch is OK.
    2. NG >> GO TO 2.
  2. CHECK KEY SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    1. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder.
    2. Disconnect the key switch connector.
    3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector M4 terminal 69 (PU/W) and key switch harness connector terminal 4 (PU/W).
      1. Continuity should exist.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK >> GO TO 3.
    2. NG >> Repair or replace harness.
  3. CHECK KEY SWITCH (INSERT) 
    1. Check continuity between key switch harness connector terminals 3 and 4.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK >> Inspection end.
    2. NG >> Replace switch.
