Shift Cable

Move gearshift lever from "P" position to "1" position. Shift detents should be felt in each position. If the detents cannot be felt or the pointer indicating the position is improperly aligned, the linkage needs adjustment.

1. Place gearshift lever in "P" position.
2. Loosen lock nuts. See Fig 1 .

3. Tighten turnbuckle until aligns with inner cable, pulling selector lever toward "R" position side without pushing shift lever release button.
4. Back off turnbuckle one turn. Tighten lock nuts to 39-52 INCH lbs. (4.4-5.9 N.m).
5. Move shift lever from "P" position to "1" position. Ensure shift lever can move smoothly.
