Crank Angle Sensor

  1. The crank angle sensor can not be tested directly. The control unit signal and wiring harness is tested. If no problems are found in the circuit, the distributor assembly must be replaced.
  2. Unplug the crank angle sensor harness at the connector and control unit. There must be no resistance measured between the sensor and control unit on the White and Green wires.
  3. The Black wire is the ground wire for the circuit. With key switch on, the Red wire carries battery voltage. If problem is still evident after circuit check, replace distributor assembly.
