Fuel Injectors

  1. Unplug the fuel injector harness at the injector and measure the resistance across the terminals. All injectors must have 2-3 ohms of resistance. If not, replace injector.
  2. With engine running, check fuel injector operating noise with a stethoscope. Normal operation of injectors is indicated when a regular click is heard which varies with engine speed.
  3. Remove the common chamber assembly. Remove all the injectors with the fuel hoses connected. Check for fuel leakage by operating the fuel pump with battery voltage applied directly to the pump relay terminal (Black/Red wire).
  4. The leakage must be less than 2 drops per minute. If leakage exceeds the limit, replace the injector.
