Fuel Cut System

  1. Warm engine to operating temperature. Turn ignition switch off. Unplug throttle valve switch harness at switch connector. Insert a fine wire into idle (I) terminal and reconnect harness with wire pulled part way out. See Figure .
  2. Start engine and run at 2500-3000 RPM. Ensure engine speed lowers to about 1250 when battery voltage is applied to the wire extending from the idle terminal. Erratic engine operation at about 1250 RPM is normal.
  3. When system does not respond as noted, check the following: throttle valve switch setting and wiring. If these parts are functioning correctly, replace the control unit.
