Fuel Cut System

  1. Warm engine to operating temperature. Turn ignition switch "OFF". Unplug throttle valve switch harness at switch connector. Insert fine wire into idle (I) terminal and reconnect harness with wire pulled part way out. See Figure .
  2. Start engine and run at 2500-3000 RPM. Ensure engine speed lowers to about 1250 when battery voltage is applied to wire extending from idle terminal. Engine "hunting" at about 1250 RPM is normal during test procedure.
  3. When system does not respond as noted, check throttle valve switch setting and wiring. If these parts are functioning correctly, replace ECU.
