System Operation Check

Turn ignition switch to the ON position. SIR indicator light should flash 7-9 times and then turn off. This indicates SIR system is functioning properly. SIR system is malfunctioning and requires repair:

• If SIR indicator light does not illuminate as described.
• If when engine is cranking, SIR indicator light does not remain on steady.
• If after cranking and engine start, SIR indicator light does not blink 7-9 times and then go out.
• If after cranking and engine start, SIR indicator light begins to flash a code 12.
