If commutator out-of-round is more than .002" (.05 mm), correct by turning commutator on a lathe. On 1.6L M/T, wear or cutting limit of commutator is 1.06" (27 mm).
For 1.6L A/T or 1.8L, wear or cutting limit of commutator is 1.14" (29 mm). On all models, standard undercut depth for insulating mica is .028-.035" (.71-.89 mm). Minimum undercut depth is .008" (.20 mm).
